About Us

The Organizers

We love to connect with people in many capacities, including (but not limited to) dancing in the pouring rain, dancing in NYC, eating miracle berries, making lemonade, Costco runs, exploring late-night food spots, and getting up to even later night shenanigans.

José (he/him)

José (he/him)

Director, President, and Last Minute DJ and Instructor (LMDJI)

José says he started partner dancing in 2018 when a friend dragged him to a blues dance in Chicago. But he really got his first partner dance lesson as a child from his mom who tried to teach him bachata and cumbia. Since 2018 he’s lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and now Boston, where he found a home in the Fusion and Lindy communities. He loves to learn new dances and believes music is nothing short of magic.

In his day to day life he is a materials scientist who loves creating and buildings things. Whether it is magnets, food, baked goods, music, pottery, or a loving and welcoming dance community he looks forward to it all – including dancing with you!

Sarah (she/her)

Sarah (she/her)

Director, Treasurer, Chief Snack Officer (CSO)

Sarah started partner dancing in 2013 and has competed in the 19 ballroom dances in competitions on the East Coast. She’s currently competing in the Open Latin category. Sarah was also part of the miXx K-Pop Cover Dance Crew for several years and has tried many partner dances including west coast swing, bachata, salsa, and two step. Oh yeah, and Fusion!

While she does love working behind the scenes and watching events run smoothly (hey, she IS an organizer!), she also loves performing for audiences and being flipped upside down. And maybe baking the occasional cheesecake. Ask her to dance (#leadfollowswitch) 🙂
